Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, guitar player Marcio Marques started his musical studies at The Instituto de Guitarra e Technologia. Marcio started to play professionally acompanying singers at a young age. In Brazil he also worked as a studio musician recording jingles and albums.In 1998 he moved to the United states to attend the Musicians Institute. At MI he studied guitar, composition and improvisation with renowned teachers as Scott Henderson, Gregg Harrison, Daniel Gilbert and Mitch Holder.In the United States he has had the opportunity to perform, tour and record with several artists and groups.Marcio's credits include performances/recordings with or alongside:Bob Crail, Jennifer Spingola, James Lent, Monika Oliveira, Jose Paulo, Eric Galm, Grammy Award winning American soul singer Billy Paul to name few.Major Festivals and Venues include:Lincoln Center (New York), Trinity College (Hartford - CT), SOBs (New York), Zinc Bar (New York), Westchester County Summer Jazz Festival (New York), Brazilian Day Festival (New York, New Jersey, Philladelphia, Miami), Luna Stage (Montclair - NJ), Johnny D's Uptown (Boston - Ma), Village Underground (New York)Marcio is actually enrolled at Berklee College of Music in Master Music Production with Protools and is expected to graduate by fall 2011, also an active member of AMF (American Musicians Federation of United States).
